what is the history of the web mail and who brought this idea?

The first web mail service was Hot mail. Hot mail was established by Sabir Bhatia in India. Hot mail became very popular, but again this concept brought by the Microsoft . There are now many other web mail services available.

So after taking off by Microsoft day by day it became more powerful as well as popular.So the important thing in selecting a web mail service that it can be comfortable in transferring mail and accessing services.
