Hi,
Well, I have an account with from last so many years, and the time has came for its renewal, I paid to my registrant, but not have completed the paperwork and so my domain has been frozen – even though it is listed as renewed until April 08.
I got hold of tech support they said to me that there is some accounts dept problem. I tried but cannot get through to accounts or customer support. I talked on the live support of the cpwebhosting.netand they were very helpful, but they cannot transfer a .com domain without co operation from registrant company. They suggested me to get the authority code from the registrant company and then email to them with the same so that they could be able to provide me the quick response, because of their help, I was able to get it done.
That is good that you were able to get it done. I hope all is going well with it now. I know that I have has problems with registrar companies in the past putting domains in their own name as the owner. I have had to fight with a few on that.
One of the first bits of information is that you know your domain is in your name. The older registrar companies are better to work with, since now days if you have the right amount of money you can register domains with ICAAN. Or can choose to pay more money and go with the first company allowed to register. But just pay attention to who you have register the domain name and the company.
If your local ISP does it on your behalf, then you should still have access to be able to change information and so on.
